Wine of the Week - Carpineto Dogajolo Rosso 2020

We're excited to showcase the Carpineto Dogajolo Rosso 2022 this week! This red wine has a fruity aroma, which is expected for its age. However, what's surprising is the dark red color despite being a youthful wine.  Made up of 80% Sangiovese and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, this full-bodied and round wine is easy to drink and definitely worth its price. We highly recommend it to anyone who wants to try a delicious red wine.

Carpineto's Dogajolo is a line of wines that serves as the producer's entry-level tier. The name comes from the Italian word "doga," which refers to the thin strips of wood used to create casks. The Dogajolo Rosso 2022, in particular, is a delightful red wine that boasts a fruity aroma and a rich, dark red color despite being a youthful wine.

We cracked the Carpineto's Dogajolo open on a Saturday night after a long day at the pool and paired it with a Lasagna. It had a really fruity aroma and I can totally smell hints of cherry, coffee, vanilla, and spice, but it wasn't overwhelmingly fragrant, that could be a combination of the age of the wine and the fact that I only set the wine sit for 45-Minutes before drinking. 

Greg's Review: From my prospective, it's perfect for everyday drinking and is really versatile when it comes to pairing it with food.
