Drinks We Love: Greg's Negroni
Hey, folks! Greg from Drink With Greg here, ready to spill the beans on the legend that is Greg's Negroni. Let's dive into the origin, ingredients, and the secret to making the best dang Negroni you'll ever taste.
So my co-founder and I have been diving into the world of Negronis for years, and we always come back to the The Teller, largely because it uses Plymouth Gin which I have come to love. To kick it up a level, I use the Navy Strength version from Plymouth and change the ratios to be slightly differente from the 1:1:1 ration. In this mix, I use 1.5 oz of Plymouth Gin Navy Strength and 75 oz of both Campari and Carpano Antica Formula Vermouth. It packs a more gin forward flavor of the drink without loosing the Negroni flair.
Recipe
- Fill a glass with ice – don't be shy, we want it nice and cold.
- Pour in 1.5 oz of Gin
- Pour in .75 oz of Campari
- Pour in .75 oz of Carpano Antica Formula Vermouth
- Give it a good stir – none of that shaking nonsense.
- Express the oils from an orange peel over the drink and drop it in.
So, there you have it – Greg's Negroni, a testament to the art of balancing flavors. Cheers to good company, great cocktails, and the simple pleasures of life.
