Drink is a cocktail bar located in the Seaport District of Boston, Massachusetts. It was founded in 2007 by Barbara Lynch, one of the most acclaimed chefs in the country. Lynch was inspired to open the bar after visiting some of the world's best cocktail bars in Europe. The bar is entirely dedicated to the craft of the cocktail, Drink blends time-honored techniques and the classic cocktails of the prohibition era with modern innovation and the very best artisanal ingredients.

History

Drink has quickly become one of the most popular cocktail bars in Boston. It has been awarded numerous accolades, including being named one of the "World's 50 Best Bars" by Drinks International magazine. The bar is known for its innovative cocktails, which are made with fresh, seasonal ingredients. Drink is also known for its extensive spirits selection, which includes over 1,000 different bottles. The interior of Drink, designed by Cheryl and Jeffrey Katz, reflects the rough­elegant industrial feel of the Fort Point neighborhood and preserves the fantastic history of this building, once a wool warehouse. Inspired by the importance of community, Drink’s bar weaves throughout the room, creating six corners for guests to comfortably gather and enjoy some great-tasting cocktails.

Founder

Drink was founded by Barbara Lynch (@barbaralynchbos) a James Beard Award–winner and Relais & Châteaux Grand Chef Barbara Lynch is regarded as one of the world’s leading chefs and restaurateurs.

While growing up in South Boston, Barbara, at the age of 13, got her first kitchen job cooking at a local rectory. It was in high school, however, that an influential home economics teacher and a job working with Chef Mario Bonello at Boston’s esteemed St. Botolph Club piqued her interest in one day becoming a professional chef. 

During her early twenties, Barbara worked under some of Boston’s greatest culinary talents. After working with Todd English for several years at both Michela’s and Olives, Barbara traveled to Italy where she learned about the country’s cuisine firsthand from local women. She returned to Boston and became the executive chef at Galleria Italiana, bringing national acclaim to the tiny trattoria when she captured Food & Wine's “Ten Best New Chefs in America” award.

House Rules

• Drink is a walk-in only establishment.

• We specialize in custom craft cocktails. These take time. Patience is a virtue, use it and enjoy the libations.

• Only complete parties will be allowed entry. We do not allow for joiners after entry.

• Due to the unique nature of Drink we are unable to provide service to groups of more than 6.

• We are unable to split larger groups into smaller parties. For all larger groups we require you to rent a portion of the bar out for the duration of your night. If you would like more information regarding availability for larger groups please visit our events page.

• Valid physical State or Federal ID is required for entry to Drink. In addition all guests visiting us from other countries will be required to show a physical passport from their home country as proof of age.

• Last entry one hour before close. Last call 30 minutes before close.

• Most evenings there is a wait for entry and we do our best to ensure that everyone is able to enjoy Drink with minimal wait times.

• We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone.
