Bars We Love:: The Flower Shop

by Negronis Greg

The Flower Shop is a popular bar and restaurant located in the Lower East Side of Manhattan in New York City. The bar has gained a reputation for its retro ambiance, creative cocktails, and casual dining experience. In this article, we'll take a closer look at the history of The Flower Shop, what the bar is most known for, and who the key players are in making this establishment one of the most popular bars in the city.

The Origin Story

The Flower Shop was founded in 2012 by Dylan Hales, Ronnie Flynn, and William Tisch. The trio had a shared love of music and wanted to create a space that blended their passion for live music and craft cocktails. They found a space that had once been a real flower shop and decided to keep the name and the spirit of the original establishment. They spent months renovating the space, turning it into a retro-inspired bar that evokes a sense of nostalgia for a bygone era.

What The Flower Shop Is Known For The Flower Shop is most known for its casual dining experience, creative cocktails, and live music. The bar features a menu of classic and contemporary cocktails, including some of its own original creations. The drinks are made with fresh ingredients and expertly crafted by the talented bartenders. In addition to the drinks, The Flower Shop also offers a menu of elevated bar bites and shareable plates, such as oysters, sliders, and fried chicken.

On top of the drinks, they have what can only be called as some seriously cool merch and we are planning a trip to NYC and are going to be checking out the bar and shopping the merch booth onsite if it is available!

The bar's retro vibe and lively atmosphere have made it a popular destination for both locals and tourists. The space is decorated with vintage furniture, old-fashioned light fixtures, and a collection of vinyl records that pay homage to the bar's musical roots. The Flower Shop also features a dance floor and hosts live music performances several nights a week.

The Key Players One of the key players in making The Flower Shop a success is bartender Jeremy Oertel (@roertel). Oertel is known for his expertise in mixology and has been a driving force behind many of the bar's signature cocktails. His innovative creations have earned him a reputation as one of the top bartenders in the city.
